Parish Safeguarding

We believe that providing a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults in all church activities is of paramount importance.

Within our churches, all volunteers and staff who work with young people and vulnerable adults are required to sign a personal declaration, provide references and have an up to date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) certificate.

Volunteers and staff are also required to undertake appropriate training with the Diocese of Portsmouth and receive certification at the completion of their course.

The procedures and practises of Safeguarding are managed by our Parish Safeguarding Representatives, Caroline Seymour and Donna Adamson and our vicar, Revd. Karen Mitchell

We work in close collaboration with the Portsmouth Diocese Safeguarding Team – see here for more information, and for guidance if you are concerned that a child or adult who may be vulnerable has been harmed and urgent action is needed.

Our Church PCC (Parochial Church Council) have a Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy which is regularly reviewed, is published in our church porches and is available to download here.
